Featuring Sony's distinguished Digital Reality Creation
and Direct Digital circuitry, this 23-inch flat-panel
LCD TV is built to deliver unsurpassed picture resolution
and rich, vibrant colors. Digital Reality Creation doubles
the pixels on each scan line (vertical and horizontal)
to create an image with far more density, while Direct
Digital Circuitry ensures that the programming looks natural
and vivid regardless of whether the source is a DVD player,
video game console, or digital cable. Due to the flat-panel
design, the TV fits in spaces where others don't, with
a narrow depth of fewer than 5 inches (including the stand).
The flat screen also guarantees a wide 170-degree viewing
angle, so users can enjoy the 1,024 x 768 resolution from
nearly anywhere in the room. And best of all, the KLV-23HR2
is HD-ready, meaning it can broadcast crystal-clear, lifelike
high-definition TV content when connected to an HDTV receiver.
The TV's video aptitude is enhanced by the 3D digital
comb filter, which reduces dot crawl and blurred edges,
along with an LCD panel driver LSI that keeps moving
images from blurring. Movie fans will delight in the
16:9 enhanced aspect ratio, which maximizes the picture
resolution for select DVDs, along with CineMotion reverse
3:2 pulldown, which preserves the integrity of the movie
frame rate. The TV is also compatible with Memory Stick
cards, letting viewers watch their favorite JPEG digital
photos or MPEG movies on the TV screen. Other user favorites
include a sleep timer, V-chip parental control, and
favorite channel preview.
Fortunately for users, the TV also delivers solid audio
performance with a pair of built-in 2-watt speakers
and SRS WOW audio advantage. SRS WOW improves both the
low- and mid-level frequency responses, giving viewers
a richer, deeper sound during playback. The audio package
also includes BBE technology and Dynamic Acoustic Chamber
speaker enclosures. Users can connect the TV to other
components through the DVI-HDTV interface (for HDTV
receivers), component video input (ideal for DVD players),
composite input, and the audio output. The TV also includes
a side headphone jack for private listening.
